Can it be possible for one man to have two fairytale endings?
For three weeks after Jamie Vardy led his Leicester City team to the most unlikely triumph in Premier League history, football's newest hero will be married today.
The setting for Vardy's second fairytale ending couldn't be more storybook: Peckforton Castle, a pink stone, Grade I listed, gothic castle in rural Cheshire, will be the backdrop for the happy occasion, lit by hundreds of candles.
As if this wasn't magical enough, Vardy, who only four years ago was playing non-league football for Fleetwood, will arrive at the ceremony having come straight from training for England's preparations for Euro 2016.
As is perhaps customary when a high-profile footballer makes it official with a WAG, Hello! magazine will be in attendance, with its sizeable chequebook and security retinue.
However, when it comes to the somewhat colourful persona of the bride, the fairytale falls apart.
For Vardy's mother Lisa and stepfather Phil — who has raised him since he was a baby — will not be there because they do not approve of their son's choice of wife, a glossy, risque brunette named Becky Nicholson.
Indeed, as Vardy's parents recently confirmed, they have not spoken to Jamie in over a year.
Stepfather Phil said the row has been going on ever since Miss Nicholson, a former nightclub promotions worker, 'came on the scene'.
'I don't have anything directly to do with my son any more. It's a shame and very sad,' he said.
'I have given him 22 years of life to get him to the pinnacle of his career, and I can't enjoy it. I don't have anything to do with him any more and it really upsets me.'
Vardy's mother Lisa said: 'I'll never say anything about my son, good or bad. I'm not bothered. I get up, go to work and look after my family. I'll not go to the fancy wedding.'
Grandparents Gerald and Mavis Clewes will not attend either. Gerald, 74, has said previously that it was 'that woman' who had come between the footballer and his mother.

'As far as the football goes, we are very proud of Jamie. But it's a bit awkward as we never see him any more. It's a real shame,' he says.
It is thought that none of them have even met Vardy's daughter, Sofia, by Becky, who was born in December 2014.
Vardy's other daughter, by ex-girlfriend Emma Daggett, has reportedly been banned from attending the ceremony by her mother.
The couple are understood to have asked five-year-old Ella to be part of the wedding party, but her mother will not let her go.
A source told the Sun: 'She wouldn't even allow Ella to attend dress fittings with the other young bridesmaids and most recently has put a total ban on her attending the wedding at all.'
Vardy's natural father, labourer Richard Gil, who split up with his mother when she was pregnant, is also unlikely to attend — he had no idea until a newspaper traced him in December that he was even related to the footballer.
So, what's the problem? Well, perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Becky, who will be gliding down the aisle in a £5,000 traditional white dress, is anything but a blushing bride.
For she has not only been married once before as a teenager, but has also gone on to have two children by two other men.

Her first husband, Mark Godden, 37, told the Mail: 'I just hope she doesn't take Jamie Vardy for the mug she took me for. I was in a state when she left. Becky's good-looking and always spent time and money on her appearance. I can only wish her all the best and hope that she's happy.'
Perhaps it is easy to see why Mr Godden feels this way — she walked out on him only six months after their romantic wedding, pictured here publicly for the first time, telling him she didn't love him.
Electrical engineer Mr Godden, who lives in Witney, Oxon, can perhaps be forgiven some bitterness. For barely four months after they exchanged vows, his wife had a fling with pop star turned reality TV perennial Peter Andre.
She dallied with Andre after they met in a restaurant — he made eyes at her and she gave him her phone number.
Becky later justified her behaviour in a toe-curling interview in which she said: 'I knew my marriage was coming to an end.'
She recalled that she told Godden she was going to London to work. Instead she went to Windsor station, where Andre picked her up and took her to the Burnham Beeches Hotel, a few miles away.
'He was really sweet and led me upstairs. When we were in the room, he stripped me and took his top off. He had great muscles,' she said.
'I thought he was going to be a fantastic lover. Then he took his trousers off! He was the worst lover I've ever had. It wasn't even worth the train fare. Peter was tiny. The smallest trouser equipment I've ever seen. It was like a miniature chipolata.'
To be fair to Becky, who is much noted for her big hair, manicured nails and love of designer handbags, perhaps her inelegant turn of phrase is just an indication of a wild youth. She left home when she was 17 and was married — and unfaithful — when she was only 19. Then came a romance with the boss of a timeshare firm. Her oldest child Megan was born in 2006.
The following year she met Luke Foster, who was playing for Oxford United. They had a son Taylor, who is now five.
It is said their six-year relationship ended because she didn't like languishing as a lower-league WAG.
Foster, 30, told a friend of their break-up: 'When she left me she walked out and told me she was with Vardy.
'I couldn't believe it. She told me she was upgrading. She left me with our child, moved in with Vardy and was pregnant within weeks.'
She met Vardy, who is 29 to her 34, when she was hired to plan his birthday party at the Viper Rooms nightclub in Sheffield, where she was working as a party organiser.
Vardy, a former factory worker who had to wear an electronic tag after a conviction for assault, was bowled over by her on first sight. Not that the feeling was mutual.

Becky told the Sunday Mirror: 'It took a lot of persuasion on Jamie's part to get me remotely interested. I must have said 'No thanks, I'm not interested' for the best part of two months. He was very persistent, though, asking me to go for a drink.' She now lives with him in a luxury new-build house in Melton Mowbray and is styling herself as a home-maker.
One old landlord, however, was not a fan. Godson Allert, who rented Becky a house in Wombwell near Barnsley, from 2013 to 2014, told the Mail lawyers were involved at the end of the let.
'She had a mouth like a toilet — she's a really vulgar woman,' he said. 'She would give me all sorts of abuse and Vardy would just stand there not saying anything.'
Today, Becky has given up her old job and works full-time supporting Jamie and is a director of his V9 Academy, which helps amateur footballers. She had their daughter, Sofia, in December 2014.
Since Jamie's rise to fame she has kept her colourful mouth shut, except when there is a cheque in it for her.
Hence her appearance four days ago wearing 'wedding lingerie' in a downmarket newspaper. In the accompanying interview, she did not mention the family feud, but did allow a grateful nation to learn about her preferences for wedding flowers — not too many, she'd rather spend the money on food and booze. The wedding has been brought forward to avoid a clash with this summer's European Championships and has, in fact, changed date three times because Vardy has wanted to be free for England selection.
He will miss the friendly against Australia on Friday, but will report to Roy Hodgson for training on Saturday. Vardy said: 'It will be a very quiet night on Wednesday. Obviously, I hope all the guests have a good time, but I will have a quiet one.'
He seems to be happily home-focused. The names of Becky's two other children — and that of their daughter Sofia — are sewn into his football boots, as is the name of Ella, five — his daughter by former girlfriend Emma Daggett. Meanwhile, Becky, like so many brides, has been dreaming of her future. Her Facebook page is already under the name Becky Vardy and she has ambitions to launch herself and Jamie as the 'new Posh and Becks'.
'Obviously we're not David and Victoria. We're still just Becky and Jamie, but they're great role models,' she said. 'I admire Victoria as a businesswoman. She has become successful in her own right and is someone I have total respect for.
'As a footballer's partner, it's not about being arm candy. But I'm sure Victoria would say it hasn't happened without putting in the hours behind the scenes.
'That's what I'm doing. We're a team. I try my best to take all the stress away from Jamie's life so he can just focus on football, because if he doesn't focus on football, he isn't doing his job properly.
'But neither of us are silly enough to think football lasts for ever. We're trying to prepare for that because you can never take things for granted.
'I'm always thinking about what happens when it ends.'
As the many spurned men in Becky's life would no doubt agree.
