ENGLAND star Jamie Vardy’s parents will not be at his
wedding after a bust-up over the bride.

Neither the Leicester City striker’s mum Lisa nor stepdad
Phil – who raised him as his own since he was a baby – will attend tomorrow’s
lavish bash.
The footballer’s grandparents Gerald and Mavis will also be
missing.
Vardy, 29, snubbed his family because they do not get on
with his fiancée Becky Nicholson.
He has not spoken to his parents for 18 months and they have
not been invited to the ceremony at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire.

Phil, 44, said neither he nor wife Lisa will be going
because of the rift over Becky, 34.
He said: “It’s been going on ever since she came on the
scene. I don’t have anything directly to do with my son any more. It’s a shame
and very sad. It’s not right to talk about it at such a time.
“I’m still his biggest fan from afar. I’m very proud.”
Phil, 44, from Sheffield, is devastated by the bust-up.

He added: “I’ve given him 22 years of my life to get him to
the pinnacle of his career and I can’t enjoy it. It really upsets me.”
Vardy’s mum Lisa said: “I’ll never say anything about my
son, good or bad. I’m not bothered. I get up, go to work and look after my
family. I’ll not be at any fancy wedding.”
This season Vardy broke a record by scoring in 11
consecutive Premier League games.
Since making his England debut last June, the £100,000-aweek
star has scored three times in seven internationals.
While many of Vardy’s pals and fellow players are due to
attend, he will not be toasting his future with his parents who do not approve
of former nightclub promotions girl Becky.
The mum-of-three, who has been married twice before, has a
one-year-old daughter with Vardy and two children from previous relationships.
Becky’s family are expected to be out in force for the big
day with four bridesmaids in tow.

The bride and groom are understood to have opted for their
guests to be greeted in style by the castle’s golden eagle.
Yesterday Becky’s spokesman refused to discuss the bust-up,
saying: “We do not want to make a comment.”
In an online posting the WAG vowed the row would not come
between her and Vardy, writing next to photos of the star: “My world, my best
friend, my love, my life, unity, unbreakable.”
Last night a spokesman for Vardy declined to comment on the
family rift.
